Wayfinding Signage
Can Design fabricated and installed identification and Informational signage for Kwantlen Polytechnic University's four campuses (Surrey, Langley, Richmond, Tech). The project was timed to be complete just before students returned back to the school, so the school’s interior wayfinding signage needed to be updated as well. This update included 10 pylon signs and 214 room numbers with braille.

First, the CNC cut 3mm Alupanel had to be attached to the 4mm Polycarbonate and edges polished by hand. Then, white cast vinyl was attached to the 3D texts made of 12mm acrylic and placed on the alupanel. Texts were made by 3M adhesive vinyl with gloss lamination, so their texture and 3D effect were legible from a distance. As these were all outdoor signs, factors such as wind, rain, snow, and other elements that could damage the sign had to be accounted for in the substrate and application.
